agentic engineering 101
Be the GOAT… or farm the goats.
A free course on building software with many AI coding agents at once, without giving up quality.

Why now
Some engineers already run dozens of agents at once.
Some sessions write code, some review each other's pull requests, one keeps the product's knowledge base current. The engineer decides what to build, how to split it, what done means and what gets merged.
Many others haven't had the chance to work that way yet, and the gap grows every month. Closing it takes weeks, not years: a handful of practices anyone can pick up, even in their spare time. This course teaches them.
At The Agile Monkeys we have been betting on AI for years. We wrote this course to keep learning from each other, and we are opening it because the practice is still being discovered.
The method
Three loops and one bottleneck.
Inner loop · 02–03
One agent, one task, done well
Discuss, plan, build and verify with a single agent that checks its own work.
Context loop · 04
The system remembers
A knowledge base that gives every new session full context.
Outer loop · 05–07
Many tracks in parallel
Split the work, run sessions side by side and let agents review agents.

Two sessions, then five, then twenty.
Human attention
The scarce resource once agents do the typing. Modules 06–08 are about spending it well.
The course
Eleven modules, a lab in each.

The whole game in 45 minutes: plan, build, parallelize and review a real change.
LabThe whole game
01. From chatbot to system
What agentic engineering is, what the evidence says, and your personal baseline.
LabBaseline yourself
Inner loop
02. One agent, done well
Discuss → plan → build → verify with a single agent.
LabOne agent, done well
03. Close the loop
Agents that check their own work; deterministic guardrails.
LabGive the agent a way to check itself
Context loop
04. Context is infrastructure
A knowledge base that gives every new session full context.
LabGive the project a memory
Outer loop
05. Decompose into tracks
Issues as prompts, blast radius, kickoff prompts and handoffs.
LabFrom a backlog to parallel tracks
06. Run sessions in parallel
Worktrees, session management and scaling from 2 to 20+.
LabThree tracks at once
07. Agents review agents
Fresh-context and cross-vendor review, triage, closing loops.
LabTwo reviewers, one ledger, one decision

08. Token economics
Cost per merged PR, model choice and measuring what matters.
LabYour cost per merged PR and your top token sinks
09. Teams and organizations
Shared practice, security, gates and open questions.
LabWrite your team's working agreement
10. Your 30-day plan
Four weeks on your own code, measured against your baseline.
LabCapstone: four weeks on your own code
Who it's for
Three starting points, one method.
New to coding agents
A solid method from day one, before the habits set in.
Daily users of one agent
Run many sessions in parallel and still trust what gets merged.
Tech leads and facilitators
Make the jump as a team, or run the course as a workshop.
You need git, a terminal and one programming language. Every lab works with our small practice project or with your own code, and with any capable coding agent. No particular plugin or platform required.
How it works
Free, and shaped with you.
Our agents are burning tokens towards a truly agentic course experience. The format, whether short videos, live sessions, written labs or a mix, we shape with the people who sign up. When you register, tell us what would work for you.
The video
Where the goats come from.
Agentic Engineering 101 (Slopcore Edition) is the song behind the course: the end of software engineering as we know it, as a music video made with agents. 4:31.

Questions
Before you sign up.
Is it really free?
Yes. Signing up is free and so is the course. We teach what we practice because we would rather work it out in the open.
Which language is it in?
English and Spanish. You choose when you sign up.
When does it start?
Soon. Our agents are burning tokens towards a truly agentic course experience. Everyone who signs up hears first, by email.
Do I need a particular tool?
No. Any capable coding agent works: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar. We show what we use, and every practice works without it.
What should I know beforehand?
Git, a terminal and one programming language.
Who is the woman in the video?
Claudia, an open character from claudia.gallery. The video was made with the claudia.gallery MCP by @anabology.
